FRISCO, Texas– While the Cowboys have made a few more moves on Sunday to the 53-man roster, they also set up their 10-man practice squad. But just like the roster, expect that to be ever-changing as well.
But for now, the Cowboys have placed two handfuls of players back on the practice squad, including three players who were with the club last year.
Converted safety Jameill Showers, who was a quarterback two training camps ago, is back on the practice squad at safety, although he can play a variety of positions on the scout team. Tackle Kadeem Edwards on the practice squad last year and is back, as is defensive tackle Richard Ash, who spent parts of last year on the active roster. The Cowboys decided to keep Ash and Lewis Neal over draft picks Jordan Carrell and Joey Ivie.
The only drafted rookie on the practice squad is sixth-round pick Marquez White, who some thought would make it on the 53-man roster as the last cornerback.
Other practice squad members include guard Nate Theaker, tackle Dan Skipper, wide receivers Brian Brown and Lance Lenoir and tight end Blake Jarwin.
Wide receiver Andy Jones, who spent all of last year on the practice squad, was cut by the Cowboys Saturday and claimed off waivers by the Texans.
Expect some changes to this current squad over the next few days. The Cowboy waived Mark Nzeocha but could try to bring him back if he can clear waivers.
Here is the 10-man practice squad for now:
