IRVING, Texas --At this point in the offseason, the Cowboys are being extra cautious with their injured players. Add starting outside linebacker Anthony Spencer to that list.
It doesn't appear serious, but Spencer was held out of Wednesday's minicamp practice with some apparent knee soreness. He came up limping near the end of Tuesday's practice at Valley Ranch and spoke with head athletic trainer Jim Maurer for a bit.
Spencer is one of several players who have missed OTA and minicamp time with injuries of varying degrees. Among the veterans: DT Jay Ratliff (plantar fasciitis); RB Felix Jones, CB Mike Jenkins and LB Dan Connor (shoulder surgery rehab); QB Kyle Orton (hamstring); G/C Kevin Kowalski (foot); and Mackenzy Bernadeau (hip surgery rehab). LB Bruce Carter (hamstring) also appeared limited.
Five of the Cowboys' seven rookies also continue to miss practice time: CB Morris Claiborne (wrist surgery rehab); DE Tyrone Crawford (calf); S Matt Johnson (school); OLB Kyle Wilber (finger surgery); and WR Danny Coale (foot surgery rehab).
