Physical and gritty blocker who takes each matchup personally. Finishing comes naturally to him. Knows where to gain leverage with hands and has a powerful first punch. Solid anchor and lower half help push defenders around. | Balance isn’t as clean as it could be. Will get top-heavy with footwork and it leads to a rare loss in leverage. Gets ahead of himself at times when reaching to the next level. Exposes his lack of length and lateral ability. |
OVERVIEW: Another key contributor to the Georgia offensive line over the last two seasons has been Fairchild at the left guard spot. Taking over the starting job this past year, he brings a level of physicality to the position, some of which may have originated with a 67-0 record as a wrestler in high school. In a short amount of time, he's gone from that high school wrestler to an All-American and All-SEC offensive lineman. With just 23 starts under his belt, he'll have plenty of room to grow into the position.
