---|---|
One of the most athletic all-around football players on the planet. Explodes off the line of scrimmage, powerful hands. Solid tackler with the power-and-speed combo to punish ball carriers. | Could add some more pass-rush moves to his already impressive skill set. Gets in the habit of attacking high with the pads during late-game scenarios. Received a misdemeanor in April 2024 for an altercation with a tow truck driver. |
OVERVIEW: One of the few blue-chip prospects who reside in this NFL Draft class. His speed and power off the edge (while wearing the No. 11 at Penn State) gave the Big Ten throwbacks to Micah Parsons' dominance in Happy Valley. Carter was the first Nittany Lion to record 10 sacks in a single season since Carl Nassib did so in 2015, and he was just the second freshman linebacker in program history to have at least 10 tackles for loss and six sacks. His consensus All-American season and Defensive Player of the Year nods are only the beginning of a long and productive career.
