PRO CON
Strength upon strength. Bull rush is devastating to opposing blockers. Good recognition helps diagnose reads and runs. High motor and has impressive long speed in pursuit of ball carriers. Fails to explode off the line of scrimmage and takes a few steps to get up to full speed. Not agile enough to drop back into coverage, and his change of direction isn’t sharp either. Not bendy when he rushes the edge.

OVERVIEW: There weren't many Buckeyes who had more of an impact on their national championship run than Jack Sawyer. He had multi-sack games against both Tennessee and Oregon, another sack against Texas in the Cotton Bowl, and four pressures in the title game against Notre Dame. Sawyer was a one-man wrecking crew on the defensive front and was named to the All-Big Ten second-team for the second straight year. While there may be questions about his burst and bend, his production against some of the best teams in the country cannot be questioned.
