Extremely strong with incredible length and plenty of size. Takes up multiple gaps with ease and shows the right recognition to keep gap assignments, even through double-teams. Good leverage with pad level. | While he’s an elite run defender, he has a ways to go in pass rush. It’s really bull rush or nothing in his pass-rushing arsenal. Not very quick off the line of scrimmage, takes a moment to get moving. Poor balance against stronger blockers. |
OVERVIEW: A model of consistency for the Texas defense over five seasons in Austin, Collins hopes to bring that same durability to the NFL. The Bastrop, Texas, product played in 63 games, including the final 40 consecutive of his college career. Collins earned All-Big 12 honors in 2023 and an invite to the Senior Bowl but decided to return to Texas for one more run at a national championship. He did his best, combining for 10 tackles and three pressures during their College Football Playoff run.
