Extremely versatile athleticism and frame. Played off-ball and off the edge with Georgia and had success in both. Good bend helps as a pass rusher, great closing speed helps as a linebacker. Fantastic motor, looks for work. | Still ironing out some things in coverage. Would get caught in a backpedal and wasn’t great with change of direction. Vision in the passing game appeared a little delayed. Needs coaching in that area. |
OVERVIEW: The question teams will have to answer when addressing the value of Jalon Walker will be, is he a linebacker or is he an edge rusher? Entering the combine, it was apparent that most teams viewed Walker as a linebacker, but others weren't quite convinced. Either way, his production at Georgia was not a question. Winner of the 2024 Butkus Award, given to the nation's best linebacker, and a unanimous All-American, Walker finished with a team-high in tackles for loss (10.5) and sacks (6.5).
