Very capable arm with the ability to make throws to every area of the field. Good vision and processing ability when making reads and surveying the middle of the field. Can use his legs to keep defenses honest. | Fumbles were an issue throughout his career. Had 50 (yes, 50!) over five years, according to Pro Football Focus. His four in 2024 were much improved, but still something to keep in mind. |
OVERVIEW: Cam Ward has elevated to an elite draft prospect after an unlikely journey through college football. Though hardly recruited out of Columbia, Texas, he caught the eye of Incarnate Word head coach Eric Morris. Ward played two seasons with the Cardinals and then went to Washington State when Morris took that school's offensive coordinator position. He then started all 25 of his games with the Cougars and threw for 6,963 yards, paving the way for his transfer to Miami. In 2024, he was named a Heisman Trophy finalist and the ACC Offensive Player of the Year.
