One of the best arms in the class. Can hit throws to every part of the field, including the deep portion. Extremely accurate within 20 yards and gets the ball out of his hand quickly. Brings some moxie to win over a locker room. | Lacks some of the high-end athleticism that threatens defenses. Relies on his arm talent too much at times and poor decision making is a byproduct. Turnovers come in bunches, had five against Pitt in 2024. |
OVERVIEW: McCord raised some eyebrows by entering the transfer portal after three seasons at Ohio State and then deciding to finish his career with Syracuse. It appeared to be the right decision, as he upped his game to a record-breaking level. He set the ACC record with 4,779 passing yards in one season and the program record with 34 passing touchdowns to finished among the top 10 in Heisman Trophy voting. His production in multiple conferences suggests he could be a steal.
