Tough as nails for the position. Knows how to lead his team through difficult moments. Picks everyone up around him. Good arm with a high football IQ. Baits defenders into ball fakes and creates separation for wideouts. Ball placement is tremendous. | Consistently gets flustered under pressure and pocket presence is a huge concern. Mobility is not a strong suit. Tries to force passes into tight windows, leading to turnovers or failed drives. Injury history has expanded over the last few years. |
OVERVIEW: There are some around the recruiting world that tab Ewers as the "first NIL quarterback." He left Carroll High School in the Dallas suburb of Southlake early to sign with Ohio State for an NIL check but played just two snaps for the Buckeyes before transferring to Texas. Ewers was a core reason for the Longhorns' return to prominence, as he led the program to back-to-back College Football Playoff appearances, a Big 12 championship and a spot in the SEC title game.
