---|---|
Versatile and skilled runner with a wide range of tools. Great contact balance, runs behind his pads. Exceptional acceleration and pad level allow him to explode through contact. Good ball security overall. | Room to grow in pass protection. Unable to really set a block with his hands and relies on a stable base. Never stood out as a receiver, limited to underneath usage and quick check-downs. |
OVERVIEW: If it wasn't for the season that Ashton Jeanty had in 2024, Hampton would be more of a household name. He tallied ten 100-yard games this past season with two over 200 yards (vs. North Carolina Central and Wake Forest), and finished as an All-ACC first-team member for the second straight year. Hampton emerges from a program that is known for producing great running backs and may be the best of the bunch. Out of names like Giovani Bernard, Michael Carter, Javonte Williams and others, only Hampton put together two 1,500-yard seasons.
