Athleticism that jumps off the page. Smooth runner with polished route-running ability. Fantastic vision and yards-after-the-catch ability. Lined up all over the formation, even taking a couple handoffs. Electrifying and complete receiver. | While his receiving is tremendous, his blocking leaves a lot to be desired. Gets moved off the line of scrimmage and will get beat by stronger pass rushers. Struggles to set anchor. |
OVERVIEW: For a program that has produced some solid NFL tight ends in the past, Loveland now stands alone for single-season receptions by a tight end. His 56 catches passed Bennie Joppru (2002) for the most in Wolverines history. Loveland started seven games and appeared in 10 for Michigan last season, tallying 582 yards and five touchdowns en route to All-Big Ten honors and even some All-America recognition. He arrived in Ann Arbor as a former basketball star and two-sport athlete, which can certainly be seen in his game tape.
