Gritty and physical player with raw size and athleticism. Very fluid in his movement and route running. Body control is NFL ready with a great set of hands (only one drop in 2024). Mean blocker. Finishes his blocks through the whistle. | Raw ability as a receiver is hindered by a minimal route tree. Was limited to shallow crossing routes and outs to the sideline. Not a burner with his speed and labors to get rolling. |
OVERVIEW: By the time his four-year career on the Forty Acres concluded, Helm had become a fan favorite among the burnt orange and white. Over his final three seasons, he appeared in 54 games with 25 starts and made an impact. His 2024 campaign propelled him up draft boards thanks to highlight-reel plays (some flying through the air) and steady production that increased when the games got bigger down the stretch. His performances against Arizona State, Clemson and Oklahoma will keep him locked in Longhorn lore for years to come.
