Extremely reliable pass catcher with the athleticism to create with the ball in his hands. Can stretch the field with long strides and ball-tracking ability. Very good at winning off the line of scrimmage, a plus in short-yardage scenarios. | Strength could use an uplift. Rough when it comes to run blocking against powerful pass rushers because he fails to anchor. Needs better awareness sitting in zone coverage. |
OVERVIEW: His dad is Pro Football Hall of Famer Jason Thomas, and his uncle is fellow Hall of Famer Zach Thomas. Mason finished his career in Baton Rouge as one of the most productive tight ends in LSU history. He caught a pass in each of his final 28 collegiate games and finished with 129 receptions for 1,308 yards and six touchdowns overall during his Tigers career. His constant production was paired with grabs in the biggest moments, like his game-winning two-point conversion over Alabama in 2023 and a game-saving touchdown against Ole Miss in 2024.
