Flozell Adams has worn the blue and silver for 12 years. This past season it's been all about the black and gold.
So when he met with the media Monday afternoon at the team hotel, Adams' jersey color was ... Green of course?
Actually, Adams was the recipient of a rather nice gesture by the Pittsburgh offensive linemen. Led by the ringleader Trai Essex, the linemen ordered a box of green Michigan State jerseys with Adams' No. 76 number. Even Adams had one as he took the podium Monday.
"I walked in this morning and was surprised they all had them on," Adams said. "It was pretty cool. We've got a lot of Big Ten guys on the line. I tell them all the time they should've gone to Michigan State."
Not sure the linemen will go that far, but it's clear what they think about Adams, not just his importance to the team but how they feel about him returning to Dallas this week. While playing in the Super Bowl is nothing new for the Steelers. They at least realize that it's a new thing and a big deal for their new teammate.
