For the first time since he joined the Cowboys, it appears Mackenzy Bernadeau will finally be practicing with the team in "full-go" when the Cowboys strap the pads on Thursday afternoon.
Just how much he will practice and with which unit is still uncertain but just being out there is good enough for Bernadeau, who has been out with a hip injury since March.
How excited are you to get out there finally?
Bernadeau: Yeah it's always good to get reps with your teammates. I'm excited about that. I'm feeling great. I want to get in there and get as many reps as I can. I will go full go this afternoon. It's exited. It's been a while since I've been out there with the guys. Getting the reps, being there, working hard and being able to hit people will be fun.
Are you going to play in the next game?
Bernadeau: I'm going to go in a preseason game. I don't know which game. I'm just playing it day by day and see how it goes. We don't want any setbacks and see how I feel.
So has it been tough being on the side just taking mental reps?
Bernadeau: You can never have too many reps. You learn something new every day. I'm trying to get as many reps as I can and just do as much as I can while I'm there.
Do you have anything to prove?
Bernadeau: Yeah you have to earn the respect of your teammates. We have a great group of guys here that I've3 worked with. I've got their respect but you still want to prove yourself on the field every day and every practice. So I look forward to doing that.
Did the Cowboys tell you before you signed about wanting you to play center?
Bernadeau: No we really didn't talk about that. I just know I can play it. (But) I play guard and what's what I'm going to be ready for.
