Top 10: Best Available Picks For Cowboys at 58
After a night to sit back and watch, the Cowboys finally get to participate in the NFL Draft on Friday. Let's look at 10 players who make the most sense to be drafted by the Cowboys.
Greg Little: Tackle isn't the Cowboys' biggest need, but it's surprising to see Florida's Jawaan Taylor and Oklahoma's Cody Ford still available. That could push Little down the board, making him too good of a bargain to pass up.
Juan Thornhill: The Cowboys want a safety and Thornhill is one of their favorites. He's a ballhawk, and he's versatile. The only problem is he might not last too long once the second round starts.
Irv Smith Jr.: The return of Jason Witten lessens the need for a tight end, but that might change if Smith falls down the board. His athleticism would make him an exciting option.
Taylor Rapp: Another safety worth keeping an eye on. Rapp's athleticism gives some teams cause for concern, which could push him down the board and into the Cowboys' range.
Joejuan Williams: Cornerback is a sneaky need for this team, and the 6-4 Williams is a perfect fit for Kris Richard's defensive scheme.
Deebo Samuel: Receiver isn't a huge need, but Samuel is a dynamic option – inside, outside and as a returner. If he's the best player available, Dallas may not hesitate to pull the trigger.
A.J. Brown: Some thought of Brown as a possible first-rounder, which makes him unlikely to last until pick No. 58. If he does, though, he could be a steal.
Jaylon Ferguson: The Cowboys are big fans of Ferguson, and his below average athletic testing might push him down the board.
Maxx Crosby: Strange to see an Eastern Michigan product here, but Crosby has impressive traits and could blossom into a force.
Trysten Hill: The Cowboys are hunting for a three-technique defensive tackle, and Hill fits the bill. Rod Marinelli would undoubtedly love to get his hands on a guy who can rotate with Maliek Collins.
