Terry Gray joined the Dallas Cowboys in a full-time role in 2017 as the club's pro scouting coordinator. In his role, Gray tracks league transactions, develops opponent advanced scouting reports and evaluates league free agents. He is also charged with managing the NFL player database, and giving recommendations for free agent or waiver wire acquisitions.
Starting with his time as a coach with the Dallas Desperados (2005) up until coming on full time, Gray consulted for the Cowboys personnel department.
Prior to becoming a full-time member of the Cowboys scouting department, Gray spent 10 seasons (1994-95, 1997-98 and 2001-06) as a coach or scout in the Arena Football League, including a stint with ArenaBowl XV winners Grand Rapids Rampage in 2001. He originally landed in Dallas as an assistant coach for the Cowboys-owned AFL team, Dallas Desperados, where he worked under then Head Coach and current Dallas Cowboys Vice President Player Personnel Will McClay.
In 1996 Gray coached tight ends at his alma mater, Baylor.
Before working in coaching and player personnel, Gray played professionally for the World League of American Football and NFL (1990-93), including stints with the LA Rams and Houston Oilers. He played along the offensive line at Cisco Junior College (1986-87) and finished his collegiate career at Baylor (1988-89).
Gray holds an associate degree in applied arts from Cisco Junior College and a bachelor's in education from Baylor University.
Gray and his wife, Mary, were married in May, 2016 and have a son, Timothy.
