After new offer, Stephen Jones 'upbeat' about CeeDee talks

CeeDee-Lamb--‘I’m-the-top-receiver’-in-the-NFL-hero

OXNARD, Calif. – The one player not in training camp right now is CeeDee Lamb. But it doesn't mean the Cowboys aren't at least trying to change that.

Cowboys chief operating officer Stephen Jones confirmed on Saturday the team has sent a new offer to CeeDee Lamb and his agent on Friday.

He also said the team has recently sent a new offer to Dak Prescott and his representatives as well.

"Right now, I would characterize both conversations as upbeat," Jones said. "We're having good talks back and forth with both Todd (France) and Tory (Dandy). I like we're we stand."

France is Dak's agent and this is not the first time they have been at the negotiating table. In 2021, Prescott signed a four-year, $160 million deal that would expire at the end of the season, potentially making him a free agent.

As for Lamb, this is the fifth year of his contract and he's playing one the fifth-year option worth $17.9 million for the 2024 season.

Lamb and his team that includes his agent Tory Dandy, are looking for a new deal that would avoid him hitting free agency. And also likely in the neighborhood of Justin Jefferson's new deal. The Vikings receiver signed a deal worth $35 million per season.
