On Sunday, October 13th the Dallas Cowboys took to social media to announce that country music star Lainey Wilson will be performing during The Salvation Army's Red Kettle Kickoff Halftime Show this Thanksgiving. The announcement came in the form of a quick video featuring Lainey Wilson and the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.

Prior to the announcement video, two teasers were released across the Cowboys' social channels; one centered around a wide brim fedora and the other around a denim jacket, both in reference to Lainey Wilson's signature attire.

"I am so excited to announce that I have teamed up with The Salvation Army to love beyond the holidays and make a difference in our communities all year round" said Lainey during the announcement video before joining the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders in their iconic kickline. While participating in the kickline, Lainey revealed that she will be joined by a special guest during the Thanksgiving performance, though she did not disclose who it will be.

Lainey Wilson and her special guest will take the stage on Thursday, November 28th when the Dallas Cowboys face off against the New York Giants.

Since 1997, the Cowboys have had some of the biggest entertainers in the world perform at the halftime, starting with Reba McEntire. Others include Randy Travis, Clint Black, Jessica Simpson, Creed, LeeAnn Rimes, Toby Keith, Destiny's Child, Sheryl Crow, Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarskon, Daughtry, Keith Urban, Enrique Inglesias, Kenny Chesney, Selena Gomez, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Meghan Trainor, Luke Combs, the Jonas Brothers and of course, the legendary Dolly Parton just last year.
