Acceleration is some of the best in the entire class. Goes from 0-to-100 in a blink at the line of scrimmage or on a stop-and-go after the catch. One of the sharper route runners in the class and extremely fluid with his footwork. | Not overly physical due to physical limitations and lack of bulk. Doesn’t appear to be interested in blocking for the run game either. Drops were a problem at times early in the season, seemingly solved that later however. |
OVERVIEW: When the lights shined bright, which happened a lot for Texas this season, Golden was at his finest. Tallied his career-best performances in the College Football Playoff against Arizona State and the SEC title game against Georgia. Capped his college career by starting all 15 games during his one season in Austin after transferring from Houston. There is complexity to his game that can't be taught. Teams will covet his deep-threat ability, just as Quinn Ewers and the Texas offense did.
