The Dallas Cowboys drafted a player with big-time potential when they selected Damone Clark in the fifth round (176th overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft. Clark, a linebacker out of LSU, was projected to be a high pick before he had spinal fusion surgery to correct a herniated disc discovered in the pre-draft process. He began his rookie season on the Reserve/NFI list as he recovered and returned to play in 10 games with five starts, amassing 50 tackles and two forced fumbles in a prominent role on the Cowboys defense. Clark will enjoy the benefit of a full offseason and look to build on a solid foundation of work as he enters his second pro season.
