@sharkpredator: How concerned should everyone be with the tackle position at the start of the season following the injury to Tyron Smith, and what are the Cowboys' contingency plans?
Nick: Very. It's Jermey Parnell, who seemingly would fare better against Dwight Howard than the Jets' blitz. He's a converted basketball player, but it's time for him to grow up fast. I'm wondering what Flozell Adams is doing these days.
Josh: Pretty concerned, I'd say, though I think Jermey Parnell had a nice camp and preseason. He's not the ninth overall pick, obviously, and it might not be pretty. If he just can't do it, Derrick Dockery would have to be a consideration. I think it's pretty much too late to add anyone.
@jhowerton7007: Terence Newman out Sunday and possibly Mike Jenkins too. What do the Cowboys do?
Nick: Play Scandrick, Ball and McCann and hold their breath. There's not much you can do. I'm sure a veteran cornerback is out there, but what kind of shape is he in and is it worth signing him for this game and guaranteeing his salary all year? This is a bad week for this to happen.
Josh: They'll just have to get the other guys ready to go. The Jets receivers are only as good as their quarterback, so if the Cowboys can get a lot of pressure on Mark Sanchez and maybe confuse him with some different looks like Rob Ryan wants to do, they could be able to force him into some mistakes. It's not entirely hopeless.
