Sean Lee and Bank of America President Richard Holt led more than 100 Bank of America and Dallas Cowboys employee volunteers in donating their time at The Salvation Army Christmas Assistance Center on Tuesday.
Lee worked alongside the volunteers in The Salvation Army warehouse to process and distribute Angel Tree gift bags to families who qualified for assistance.
Along with the familiar Red Kettles, the Angel Tree program is one of The Salvation Army's most high profile Christmas efforts. Created in 1979, Angel Tree gives individuals and partnering corporations an opportunity to adopt less fortunate neighbors and provide personalized gifts and necessities to those who would otherwise receive very little or nothing during the holiday season.
Through the Dallas Cowboys and Bank of America partnership with The Salvation Army and the North Texas Food Bank, 4,000 Angel Tree families will be served by the Dallas location. These families will receive a holiday meal in addition to the gifts donated by helpful North Texans.
The meal packages, provided through the North Texas Food Bank, were assembled by Bank of America employee volunteers in November with help from Dallas Cowboys legend Daryl Johnston, members of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and team mascot Rowdy.
