To me it's easy to predict that Tyron Smith will be better in 2014 and even 2015, I've seen enough of him. But what about Travis Frederick, do you expect him to be better (and stronger) these next couple of years?
David: It's probably never smart to assume the continued progress of one player or another, just because of how difficult a league this is. You have to prove it. That said, I'd be pretty surprised to see a sophomore slump from Frederick. He's a smart guy, and he looks physically stronger than he did as a rookie. With another first-round talent next to him and another year to adapt, I expect reliability from him.
Rowan: You sometimes hear of the "sophomore slump," but I feel that's usually more the case for skill position players. The fact that Frederick picked the game up so quickly without many issues and seemed to get progressively better last year gives me confidence he'll be solid again in 2014. I do expect with an NFL offseason he'll be stronger and even more prepared knowing what to expect.

How has Gavin Escobar looked in the OTAs? Should we see him more involved in the offense this year?
David:Well, the last time we were allowed out to practice, Escobar was sitting out with a quad bruise – so that's our most recent impression of him. Before that, [embedded_ad] though, Scott Linehan had him lining up off the line of scrimmage and in the slot in what looked like more of a receiver role. I'm not going to call for him to put up 1,000 yards, but yes I think he'll be a more viable part of the offense.
Rowan: We haven't seen a whole lot of him during OTAs, but I take everything I see during those practices with a grain of salt. Players who won't even be on the roster have big days and then you don't hear from them anymore, while others players can look poor and go on to have big seasons. I do expect Escobar to have a heightened role this year, primarily bumped outside as a receiving threat. If it means anything, he was consistently in the weight room this offseason and around Valley Ranch as much as anyone.
