Extremely athletic and long-armed linebacker with a fundamentally sound skill set. Doesn’t get caught out of position, uses vision and quick twitch to get to the right spot. Rapid recognition and sound spacing in coverage. | Not an overly physical linebacker. Brings defenders down with technique rather than power, which he would need to add at the next level. Footwork is spotty at times. |
OVERVIEW: Bassa was an unquestioned leader on one of the top defenses in the country, helping the Ducks to the College Football Playoff and top overall ranking. There were times during his final season when Bassa had to battle through a lingering ankle injury, but he played better as the season continued, including throughout Senior Bowl workouts, where he was named the top linebacker during the week of practice. He finished his college career with 236 total tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss and three interceptions over his four seasons at Oregon.
