Nov. 29
1:30 p.m. - The Cowboys may be getting another key contributor to their defense back, as Pro-Bowl defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence appears to be nearing a return.
"We'll get [DeMarcus] Lawrence back against Cincinnati more than likely." Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said earlier today on 105.3 The Fan.
Lawrence last played in Dallas' Week 4 victory over the New York Giants, and was able to generate three sacks through the first four games of the season. It'd be a welcome addition to the Cowboys pass rush that tallied six sacks on Thursday against the Giants.
-----------
1:27 p.m. - Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb is dealing with a shoulder injury once again, but should be available when the Cowboys return from their long break on Dec. 9 against the Cincinnati Bengals.
"By the time we get these extra days between Thanksgiving and next game, I think [CeeDee] Lamb will be ready to go." Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said on 105.3 The Fan.
Lamb dealt with the same shoulder injury in Week 9 against the Atlanta Falcons, and was able to return the following week. It appears that he will do the same this time around, with a few extra days of rest helping his recovery.
-----------
Nov. 28
9:30 p.m. - Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb sat out a majority of the fourth quarter with what Mike McCarthy says is a shoulder injury, similar to the one he suffered against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 9.
"CeeDee had a shoulder injury, that's why he didn't go back in." McCarthy explained following Dallas' win over the Giants.
Lamb finished the day with 2 receptions for 39 yards, ending his streak of consecutive games with four or more receptions. He set the longest streak in NFL history (44 games) on Sunday against the Commanders.
-----------
9:25 p.m. - With Dallas' 27-20 win over the New York Giants, Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy has tied former Cowboys head coach and Hall of Famer Bill Parcells for the 14th-most regular season wins in NFL history with 172.
"I don't know Coach Parcells, but I've just always admired him - particularly his generation, that was the generation I broke in under..." McCarthy said. "Just to be mentioned with any of those guys, it's a blessing."
McCarthy is now 13-3 against the Giants in his NFL career, and the Cowboys have won eight consecutive games against New York dating back to 2021.
-----------
5:30 p.m. - Cowboys safety Juanyeh Thomas was carted off the field with a knee injury during the second quarter of Dallas' Thanksgiving game against the New York Giants.
Thomas' injury occurred while defending a kickoff before the Giants' first drive of the second quarter.
Already down Thomas, the Cowboys also lost another defensive back for the night in Josh Butler, who headed to the locker room with an apparent knee injury in the second quarter.
-----------
2:00 p.m. - The Cowboys will take the field for the second time in a four-day span without All-Pro cornerback Trevon Diggs on the field.
Diggs was ruled out ahead of the Thanksgiving kickoff against the New York Giants, as Dallas continues to await the 2024 debut of both Diggs and DaRon Bland on the field at the same time — Bland having returned from injury as Diggs now battles more than one.
Other inactives for the Cowboys on the holiday include Jake Ferguson, Zack Martin, Deuce Vaughn, Ryan Flournoy, Marshawn Kneeland and Andrew Booth.
Booth is listed as inactive this week following an elevation from the practice squad alongside fellow cornerback Kemon Hall.
-----------
Nov. 27
2:45 p.m. - The Cowboys moved rookie cornerback Caelen Carson and second-year offensive lineman Asim Richards to injured reserve.
Carson has missed five games this season for Dallas, and popped up on the injury report yesterday with a shoulder injury, one that he's dealt with for several weeks. Richards has rotated in and out at left tackle in the last few weeks, and was not a participant in any practices this week with an ankle injury.
For Thursday afternoon's game against the New York Giants, the Cowboys activated wide receiver Brandin Cooks to return to the lineup, signed tight end Princeton Fant to the active roster, and elevated defensive backs Andrew Booth and Kemon Hall from the practice squad.
Nov. 26
5:22 p.m. - Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs (groin/knee) did not participate in Tuesday's walkthrough after being limited on Monday.
Diggs missed Dallas' win over the Commanders on Sunday with the injury, the first game he's missed this season.
Rookier cornerback Caelen Carson was also downgraded to DNP on Tuesday's injury report, meaning Dallas would likely need to lean on the likes of Josh Butler and Israel Mukuamu again should both Diggs and Carson be unable to play.
9:13 a.m. - Although head coach Mike McCarthy is in the final year of his contract and the Cowboys currently have a 4-7 record, the thought of a new contract wasn't dismissed by owner Jerry Jones when he was asked about it on 105.3 The Fan on Tuesday.
"I don't think that's crazy at all. It's not crazy," Jones said. "Mike McCarthy is an outstanding coach. This is a Super Bowl-winning coach. Mike McCarthy has been there, done that. He has great ideas. In no place in my body language or anything else have you seen indications to what we're going to be doing with this staff at the end of this year. We've got a lot of football left."
McCarthy is in his fifth season with the Cowboys, starting in 2020 when they went 6-10 during the COVID-19 season that also saw the team lose Dak Prescott for 10 games. After that, the Cowboys have had three straight 12-5 seasons, but have been just 1-3 in the playoffs.
This year, the Cowboys are 4-7 and have had a rash of major injuries, including Dak Prescott's hamstring injury that required season-ending surgery.
--------------
Nov. 25
12:45 p.m. – The victory against the Commanders wasn't simply a wild ride, but it was also a little bittersweet for the Cowboys.
That's because yet another one of the team's offensive linemen has suffered injury, in a matchup wherein both Tyler Smith and Zack Martin were both ruled out with ankle injuries, and Asim Richards suffered a high ankle sprain in the contest — per Stephen Jones to 105.3 The Fan — that could cost the promising young tackle some time,
There is a chance, per Jones, that the Cowboys could see the return of Smith to the field against the Giants on Thanksgiving, however, as well as veteran wide receiver Brandin Cooks, who has been working to return from injured reserve.
The offense will likely be without Pro Bowl tight end Jake Ferguson though, as he remains in concussion protocol.
--------------
12:15 p.m. -- Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott was Dallas' nominee for the 2024 Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award, which is given to "an NFL player who best demonstrates the qualities of on-field sportsmanship, including fair play, respect for the game and opponents and integrity in competition."
Per the release from the NFL, a panel of former players from the NFL Legends Community — Warrick Dunn, 2014 Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award recipient Larry Fitzgerald, Pro Football Hall of Famer Curtis Martin and Leonard Wheeler — will select eight finalists (four in the AFC and four in the NFC) from the 32 nominees. Prescott was one of the eight finalists for the award in 2023, which ended up going to then Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner.
The winner will be announced at the 2024 NFL Honors ceremony, where the recipient will also get $25,000 donation from the NFL Foundation to a charity of his choice.
--------------
Nov. 24
5:32 p.m. – Starting for the second straight game because Trevon Diggs was ruled out, Butler was picked on by the Commanders' passing game all day.
But in the end, Butler held his own, and then some. He was credited with a team-high 12 tackles. He also had a sack on Jayden Daniels and had three pass deflections.
Even when Diggs comes back to play opposite DaRon Bland, the Cowboys might have found another playmaker in Butler, who had been on the practice squad most of the season.
--------------
5:30 p.m. – While his coaches and teammates were mostly hoping he would just go down before the end zone, Juanyeh Thomas did make history with his kickoff return for a score.
Thomas fielded the Commanders' onside kicker and darted up the field in the clear, cruising to a 43-yard touchdown return – the first score of his career.
It's also the first time in Cowboys history to have two kickoff returns for a touchdown in the same game.
The last Cowboys player to return an onside kick for a touchdown was CeeDee Lamb in 2020 against the 49ers.
Last week, Thomas caught a pass on special teams on a fake punt that was stopped short of the first down. This time, he found the end zone to give the Cowboys an eight-point lead, although they still had to stop Washington's Hail Mary attempt.
--------------
5:23 p.m. – The last two games Brock Hoffman has started have been here in Washington.
He replaced Zack Martin in Week 18 last year and helped the Cowboys get a comfortable win. While it wasn't as easy this time around, Hoffman again stepped into the starting lineup for Martin, who was ruled out on Saturday with ankle/shoulder injuries.
Hoffman wasn't the only new starter as T.J. Bass filled in for injured left guard Tyler Smith. And sandwiched around rookie Cooper Beebe, the Cowboys managed to hold up in the middle, despite the youth.
The Cowboys had 332 total yards, and Rico Dowdle was able to rush for 86 yards with a 4.5 yard average.
--------------
5:12 p.m. – Chauncey Golston gives credit to the IV bag that the athletic trainers hooked up to him in the second quarter.
The defensive end had to leave the game due to dehydration but not only came back, he was refreshed.
"I felt good. I'm glad the IV bag rolled fast," Golston said. He was cleared to return to the field and had an interception that stopped a Commanders drive just moments later.
Golston, who also had a pass deflection on third down, admitted this was a personal game for the defensive linemen that played under Dan Quinn and were teammates with Dorance Armstrong and Dante Fowler.
"I mean, yeah. We're all grown," Golston said. "We're all paid to be here. The guys before us like (Dorance Armstrong) did it. You just have to embrace the challenge when it's your turn."
--------------
5:13 p.m. - With his dramatic 99-yard kickoff return in the fourth quarter, Turpin moved into some elite company in team history.
He's now just the second player ever, joining Kevin Williams, to score touchdowns rushing, receiving and on both punt and kickoff return.
This year, Turpin had a 60-yard punt return against the Browns, a 64-yard TD reception last week against Houston and then the 99-yarder against Washington.
--------------
4:11 p.m. – Four catches in a game has never been the standard for NFL receivers. But then again, to do it 44 times in a row is another thing – and something no player had ever done until Sunday.
CeeDee Lamb caught 10 passes for 67 yards, but he surpassed former Saints receiver Michael Thomas for the most consecutive games with four receptions or more.
Thomas had a streak of 43 straight games, but passed by Lamb, who hasn't been held to less than four catches since Week 1 of the 2022 season.
On a franchise note, Lamb also set the Cowboys' record for the most 10-catch games. He passed Jason Witten (11) for the most double-digit catch games now with 12.
--------------
11:30 a.m. - The amount of adversity the Cowboys are continually up against has again ratcheted up, as they'll be without three All-Pros against the Commanders in Week 12.
Trevon Diggs and Zack Martin did not travel with the team and were ruled out of the contest on Saturday afternoon, due to injury, joining Pro Bowl tight end Jake Ferguson as absent for the matchup — Ferguson still in concussion protocol at this time — and Tyler Smith became a last-minute scratch at Northwest Stadium.
Both Martin and Smith are dealing with multiple injuries and, as such, are being treated with caution as the next game is just four games away.
Remaining inactives include Caelen Carson, Deuce Vaughn and Tyrus Wheat.
--------------
Nov. 23
12:19 p.m. - The Cowboys were able to move a couple of players off of IR to the active roster on Saturday before the trip to Washington.
Veteran OT Chuma Edoga has been on IR since the start of the season with a toe injury and he's been moved to the 53. Also, rookie defensive end Marshawn Kneeland (knee) has been taken off of IR and now on the 53-man roster.
To make room, the Cowboys placed safety Markquese Bell on IR with a season-ending shoulder injury. The team also released defensive end K.J. Henry.
--------------
12:17 p.m. - The Cowboys decided not to elevate wide receiver Brandin Cooks to the active roster ahead of this game with the Commanders.
Cooks has been on IR since Week 5 and practiced this week in a limited basis with a knee injury.
But the Cowboys opted not to move him to the roster. Cooks could be an option to play on a short week Thursday against the Giants on Thanksgiving.
--------------
12:11 p.m. - The Cowboys elevated tight end Princeton Fant from the practice squad with Jake Ferguson out with a concussion.
Fant will join Luke Schoonmaker and Brevyn Spann-Ford as active tight ends but could also help at fullback where Hunter Luepke is questionable with a calf injury.
The Cowboys also elevated cornerback KLemon Hall with Trevon Diggs ruled out with injuries.
--------------
Nov. 22
3:06 p.m. - Cowboys offensive lineman Zack Martin is doubtful to play in Sunday's game against the Washington Commanders with an ankle/shoulder injury.
"I think probably it's going to be tough for Zack to play in this game, unfortunately he hurt his other ankle..." Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones said on 105.3 The Fan. "This is going to be a tough one for him to make this week."
Martin sustained the injury in the fourth quarter against the Houston Texans last Monday, and did not participate in practice the entire week.
From the rest of the injury report, Tyler Smith (ankle/knee) is questionable to play on Sunday, alongside Brandin Cooks (knee), Trevon Diggs (groin/knee), and Marshawn Kneeland (knee). Jake Ferguson (concussion) is out, and DaRon Bland (foot) is good to go, and will make his season debut against the Commanders.
--------------
2:15 p.m. - The Cowboys will go head-to-head with one of their more beloved former coaches on Sunday in Commanders head coach Dan Quinn. Guys like Micah Parsons appreciate how good of a player's coach Quinn was during and after his time as defensive coordinator in Dallas, including helping get Parsons' family tickets for Sunday's game.
"That goes to show you what type of coach DQ is and type of player's coach he is," Parsons said. "Regardless of where you at, whether you're playing for him and things like that, he's always about his guys and that's my guy. It's going to be fun playing against him."
On the field though, Parsons isn't holding back, and he knows Quinn won't either.
"I know he's going to have them rallied up, he's probably going to say 'It's shark week, it's fight night, we got to go to round 12'… I know his whole spiel, but I'm Tommy Jones tonight."
--------------
Nov. 21
3:23 p.m. - Wide receiver CeeDee Lamb did not practice on Thursday, popping up on the injury report with a back and foot issue.
Lamb was limited Wednesday but listed as DNP for Thursday - one of six players with that designation. Notable players who did not practice include Zack Martin, Tyler Smith and Jake Ferguson.
Lamb has played in all 10 games this season, leading the team with 67 catches for 774 yards and four touchdowns.
--------------
3:12 p.m. - Just a few plays into his first NFL start, Marshawn Kneeland suffered a knee injury that has kept him out of action since the Oct. 6 game in Pittsburgh.
After he's missed five straight games, Kneeland said he's "definitely" close to playing this week against the Commanders. He said the physical part of the injury has been worse that overcoming any mental hurdles in the rehab.
"I've been injured before," Kneeland said. "So it really doesn't take its toll mentally for me because I know I'll be able to come back stronger."
--------------
11:00 a.m. - Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said on 105.3 The Fan that he expects All-Pro cornerback DaRon Bland to make his season debut on Sunday against the Washington Commanders.
"Yes I do," Jones said when asked if he believed Bland would be good to go. "Unless something pops its head up in the next couple of days."
Bland was a full participant in Wednesday's walkthrough practice, the first time he had practiced with the team since he suffered a setback in his recovery ahead of the bye week.
--------------
Nov. 20
4:15 p.m. - DaRon Bland returned to Cowboys' practice on Wednesday, only days ahead of the team's visit to that nation's capital to take on the Washington Commanders.
More importantly, the All-Pro cornerback was a full participant, and this marks the first time he's practiced since just before the bye week, when he logged two full practices before being shelved again with soreness in his surgically-repaired foot — Bland now on track to potentially make his 2024 debut soon.
The offensive line was without two All-Pros in practice, as both Tyler Smith and future Hall of Fame right guard Zack Martin were sidelined with ankle injuries, with Smith also working through a knee issue as Martin combats a shoulder issue (and his other ankle is injured as well).
Jake Ferguson remains in concussion protocol, unlikely to play this weekend, and Hunter Luepke was again absent as well with a calf issue that held him out versus the Texans; but both Brandin Cooks and Marshawn Kneeland practiced in their bid to return from injured reserve.
--------------
11:30 a.m. - There's a chance Tyler Guyton will take the field when the Dallas Cowboys visit the Washington Commanders in Week 12.
The rookie first-round pick has been playing through a shoulder injury that was exacerbated by a hit during the contest against the Houston Texans, when Guyton picked up a fumble before suffering the blow.
He left the game and did not return, but sounds optimistic about this weekend.
"I'm gonna do everything I can do to be back on the field, to be prepared and be ready," Guyton said. "I'm gonna play as much as I can."
--------------
Nov. 19
9:30 a.m. - The Cowboys could be closer to getting back some help this week. The team has moved both Brandin Cooks and Marshawn Kneeland to "Designated to Return," meaning their 21-day practice window has been opened.
It doesn't mean Cooks or Kneeland will play this week against the Commanders, but they will at least start practicing and have the ability to play. If so, the Cowboys would need to clear roster spots for each of them.
Cooks has not played since Giants game on Sept. 26 with a knee injury. Kneeland went down the next week in Pittsburgh with a knee injury as well.
--------------
Nov. 18
5:15 p.m. - Mike McCarthy said in his Tuesday press conference that the Cowboys are hoping to finally get veteran receiver Brandin Cooks back this week.
Cooks is still on injured reserve and hasn't played since Week 4 against the Giants after sustaining a knee infection following a procedure in New York. If he is able to return this week, offensive coordinator Brain Schottenheimer is optimistic he can contribute immediately to the offense.
"It would be awesome to have him out there, I know he's itching to get back out there..." Schottenheimer said. "We'll be smart with him and see how he does throughout the week, but in terms of Brandin being Brandin, I don't think there'll be any question he'll be ready to play, and when his number's called, he'll make plays for us like he always does.
--------------
11:21 p.m. - It was an up-and-down day for the Cowboys' top receiver, who once again led the team in catches and yards against the Texans.
But Lamb's day of eight receptions for 93 yards also had some miscues, including an illegal motion penalty in the second half, along with other plays in which he was not on the same page with Cooper Rush, whose first interception was a pass intended for Lamb, who stopped the crossing route and the ball was picked off.
Lamb still made history on Monday, tying an NFL record for most consecutive games with at least four receptions. He's tied with Michael Thomas for 43 straight games with four catches and can break the mark next Sunday in Washington.
--------------
11:02 p.m. - Another interesting day for kicker Brandon Aubrey, who made two long kicks - one of them was taken off the board. But his night probably be remembered more for a 40-yard miss in the second quarter with the Cowboys trailing by 7.
That miss was uncharacteristic for Aubrey, who did hit a 53-yarder and also drilled a 64-yard kick, but the Cowboys chose to accept a personal foul penalty and went for a touchdown. However, they were stopped on downs and never got any points on that drive.
With his 53-yarder, Aubrey now has 10 makes this year of 50+ yards, becoming the first kicker in NFL history to have multiple seasons with at least 10 field goals of 50 yards or more.
--------------
10:35 p.m. - The veteran quarterback is now 0-2 as a starter this year, dropping his second straight game taking over for Dak Prescott, who was placed on IR officially on Monday after suffering hamstring injury.
Rush did set career-highs Monday night with 354 passing yards and 55 attempts. He threw one interception, lost a fumble that was returned for a touchdown, and threw a TD to KaVontae Turpin of 64 yards, the second-longest pass play of Rush's career.
--------------
7:56 p.m. - Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson was ruled out for the remainder of Monday's game against the Houston Texans after the first quarter with a concussion.
Ferguson caught 1 pass for 11 yards during his limited time on the field.
The Cowboys play against the Commanders in just six days, shortening the time that Ferguson has to clear protocol and return to play.
--------------
1 p.m. - With Dak Prescott now officially moved to injured reserve, he will not headline the list of inactives for Week 11 when the Cowboys host the Houston Texans on Monday Night Football.
Jourdan Lewis will, however, as he was ruled out of the matchup due to a neck injury. Initially listed as doubtful, joining DaRon Bland as another of Dallas' starting cornerbacks unable to participate.
Hunter Luepke has also been ruled inactive for the "Battle for Texas", leading the Cowboys to elevate tight end Princeton Fant in his coming absence.
The remaining inactives include Damone Clark, KJ Henry, Matt Waletzko and Jalen Brooks.
--------------
1 p.m. - Dak Prescott has officially been placed on injured reserve by the Cowboys, ending his 2024 season after the All-Pro quarterback underwent surgery to repair a partially torn hamstring.
The available roster spot has been filled by the signing of defensive back Josh Butler from the practice squad to the active 53-man roster on Monday, ahead of the matchup against the Houston Texans, a contest that will see Jourdan Lewis absent with a neck injury.
To aid in depth for the contest, the Cowboys have elevated Kemon Hall from the practice squad, marking his first of the season, Hall hoping to carry over his preseason success that included a pick-six in August.
Princeton Fant was also elevated, an indicator that Hunter Luepke, who was listed as doubtful on Saturday, will likely be unavailable on Monday.
--------------
Nov. 16
3 p.m. - Another blow has been struck to the already reeling Dallas Cowboys' defense as they prepare to host the Houston Texans on Monday Night Football.
Jourdan Lewis, the tone-setting veteran cornerback who has been one of the most consistent players this season for coordinator Mike Zimmer, has been ruled out of Week 11 due to a neck injury that kept him out of every practice this week; and DaRon Bland remains out with his foot injury, as well.
Offensively, fullback Hunter Luepke is listed as doubtful with a calf injury and All-Pro wide receiver CeeDee Lamb is questionable with a back issue that appeared on Saturday.
"He had something pop up in a 7-on-7 drill," said head coach Mike McCarthy of Lamb's availability this week. "We'll look at him [on Sunday], but I'm not of high concern."
--------------
Nov. 15
11 a.m. - Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said during an interview on 105.3 The Fan that he's be in favor of the NFL expanding to an 18-game schedule.
"I'm an 18-game proponent, I think it serves the game in a great way..." Jones said. "I'm for it."
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell mentioned earlier this week that the league was looking to change from a 17-game regular season and three-game preseason to an 18-game regular season and two-game preseason, something that the NFLPA will have to agree to before being implemented.
--------------
Nov. 13
3:32 p.m. -Jourdan Lewis was held out of Thursday's practice with a neck injury. He was one of 18 players on the injury report, including eight who did not practice at all.
The Cowboys have an extra day of practice this week because of the Monday night game. Thursday was the first day they sent an injury report to the NFL.
Other players with a DNP status on the injury report include Zack Martin, Jake Ferguson, DaRon Bland and Hunter Luepke.
----------------
11:35 a.m. - Tyler Smith did not practice on Wednesday as he focused on rehab work with trainer Britt Brown, making his appearance at the beginning of practice with a heavily wrapped left knee.
The All-Pro guard is expected to participate on Thursday though, per head coach Mike McCarthy, a good sign that he'll be ready to go against the Houston Texans.
Smith has been the most consistent player on the Cowboys' offensive line, a unit that continues to battle injury at multiple positions.
He also saw some work at left tackle a few weeks ago, for the first time since his rookie season.
----------------
Nov. 13
4:21 p.m. - In his first game action since 2022, Cowboys quarterback Trey Lance threw for 21 yards on 4 completions and added 17 yards on three carries in Dallas' 34-6 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Whether he's brought in situationally or asked to shoulder a larger role in the offense, Lance is ready for whatever comes his way.
"Just continuing to improve, whatever the situation is," Lance said. "If I get a chance to get on the field this week, great, if not, it's just supporting Coop and doing whatever I can to help him and help the offense."
Monday's game against the Texans will be the next opportunity for Lance to contribute offensively, with the hopes that he can eliminate turnovers from his performances.
"My thing is the turnover…" Lance said of his self-evaluation following the loss, where he threw an interception late in the fourth quarter. "I've got to take care of the ball, give guys on offense and the coaching staff the confidence to be able to put me out there."
----------------
11:30 a.m. - Mike McCarthy announced during his Wednesday press conference that the Cowboys will open the 21-day practice window for Chuma Edoga (toe), who has yet to play this season.
This comes after Asim Richards got the start at left tackle against the Eagles, and Tyler Guyton is trending towards being healthy for Monday night against the Texans. There's options for McCarthy and Dallas at the tackle position, and that plays into their favor.
"Balance is great, it's healthy, healthy competition is always good… I think it'll be really good for us."
----------------
Nov. 12
9:14 a.m. - Not only are the Cowboys sticking with Cooper Rush at quarterback this week, team owner/GM Jerry Jones said he's expecting a better showing from his veteran.
In fact, Jones said Rush might have suffered an early-game injury to his neck when he fought for a fumble on the second series against the Eagles.
"I'm not so sure ... he had quite a neck strain on that first fumble where he went down and didn't get the recovery," Jones said on 105.3 'The Fan' Tuesday morning. "I'm not at all making excuses, but he was not the Cooper Rush that we know and how he can play. He can play better than that."
Rush stayed in the game until the Cowboys decided to use Trey Lance some in the second half.
He finished 13 of 23 for 45 yards passing and a 61.7 QB rating. It marked just the third time in franchise history a player threw for less than 50 yards with over 20 attempts.
----------------
Nov. 11
12:30 p.m. - Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones said on 105.3 The Fan that Tyler Guyton (neck/shoulder) has a good chance of playing next Monday night against the Houston Texans after being sidelined in Dallas' 34-6 loss to the Eagles.
"He was in this morning early, I think they feel really good about him playing this week." Jones said.
Similarly to when Guyton was injured against the Falcons, Asim Richards came in at left tackle and held down the fort in Guyton's absence.
"I thought Asim Richards stepped up and did a nice job yesterday." Jones said.
----------------
12:15 p.m. - A breakout game was had against the Philadelphia Eagles by DeMarvion Overshown, a beacon of light in an otherwise dark outing by the Dallas Cowboys in Week 10.
He exited the game for an evaluation on his knee, however, creating a concern in the moment about his status going forward, though he did re-enter the contest before eventually being pulled as a precaution.
Following the game, Overshown, who is reportedly dealing with bursitis, stated he "felt great" and that he'd "be ready" for when the Houston Texans arrived at AT&T Stadium for Monday Night Football in Week 11, and that sentiment was echoed by executive vice president Stephen Jones.
"It looks like we've got a great shot at having him back for this week," Jones told 105.3 The Fan.
----------------
Nov. 10
7:31 p.m. - Cornerback Trevon Diggs picked off his first pass since Week 1 of the season. And it was the Cowboys' first red-zone takeaway in over a year, dating back to October in 2023 in San Francisco.
Diggs now has 20 career interceptions and his 17 since 2021 is the most in the NFL over the last three seasons, which is quite an accomplishment considering he missed most of last year.
Diggs now has three interceptions off Jalen Hurts, a former college teammate at Alabama.
----------------
7:21 p.m. - The Cowboys made the switch to Israel Mukuamu to replace Caelen Carson in the third quarter at cornerback.
The Eagles kept attacking Carson's side of the field, drawing penalties and converting long passes. Mukuamu, who has played mostly safety in his pro career, has played both positions this season.
The Cowboys are still hopeful DaRon Bland can return from a foot injury that has sidelined him since training camp.
----------------
1:55 p.m. - Losing Dak Prescott to a severe hamstring injury is a devastating blow for the Cowboys, especially considering just how much adversity they've combated by way of the injury bug over the last several weeks. They are getting some good news against the Eagles, however, with Micah Parsons officially returning to action.
Parsons will be active for the first time since suffering a high ankle sprain in September.
Unfortunately, the Cowboys will be without starting left tackle Tyler Guyton, the rookie first-round pick having suffered a neck injury in the loss to the Atlanta Falcons in Week 9 that he was unable to work his way through this week.
Guyton headlines the inactives this week alongside DaRon Bland, who is still working to make his 2024 debut from a foot injury, and others who will not take the field against Philly include Juanyeh Thomas (concussion), Deuce Vaughn, KJ Henry and the newly-acquired wide receiver, Jonathan Mingo, who needs more time to ramp up for his Cowboys' debut.
----------------
Nov. 9
12:38 p.m. - After making his NFL debut last Sunday, cornerback Josh Butler will play again this week against the Eagles.
The Cowboys elevated Butler on Saturday, using his second of three-allowed elevations for practice squad players. The team also decided to elevate wide receiver Jalen Cropper for the first time.
The Cowboys chose not to elevate veteran running back Dalvin Cook for the third time, so he will not play against Philly on Sunday, meaning Rico Dowdle, Ezekiel Elliott and perhaps Deuce Vaughn will be the three backs.
Nov. 8
3:14 p.m. - Friday's injury report revealed five Cowboys would be questionable going into Sunday's game against the Eagles, with Trevon Diggs (calf/illness) popping up as a DNP on Friday after being limited in both prior practices this week.
Tyler Guyton (neck/shoulder), Eric Kendricks (shoulder), Nick Vigil (foot) and Micah Parsons (ankle) were the other Cowboys alongside Diggs listed as questionable for Sunday afternoon. Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones said that a decision on Guyton "will be made (Saturday)."
DaRon Bland (foot) once again did not practice for the entirety of the week, joining Dak Prescott (hamstring) and Juanyeh Thomas (concussion) as the other players designated as "out."
CeeDee Lamb, Zack Martin, Linval Joseph, and Caelan Carson were all off the injury report and are good to go on Sunday against Philadelphia.
----------------
3:06 p.m. - Safety Juanyeh Thomas has officially been ruled out for Sunday's game with the Eagles.
He suffered a concussion against the Falcons last week in the fourth quarter and did not return to action. Thomas has not practiced all week.
As expected, Dak Prescott and DaRon Bland have also been ruled out.
----------------
1 p.m. - Dak Prescott is likely heading to injured reserve any minute now, quite literally, and that will then leave the Cowboys with Cooper Rush and Trey Lance as their only active quarterbacks on the roster.
That goes against what they typically want to do at the position, having carried three over the past two seasons with Lance serving as the emergency QB in the event of injury to both Prescott and Rush in games.
To that end, head coach Mike McCarthy stated the team is already scanning free agency options for a potential addition at the position following their matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles — having already worked out a couple of arms over the past few months for the sake of due diligence.
"Definitely," McCarthy said. "We'll probably continue those conversations over the weekend. You're always looking at those lists any time you have an injury. Jerry [Jones], Will [McClay} and Stephen [Jones] have already started that process and I've been involved in those conversations."
----------------
12:45 p.m. - Micah Parsons (ankle) is continuing to trend towards playing on Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles, a massive help for the Cowboys defense that has been hampered by injuries all season.
"He's definitely moved through the practice plan…" Head coach Mike McCarthy said. "I'm hoping and anticipating with a full practice tomorrow that he'll be ready to go Sunday."
Parsons hasn't played since he suffered a high ankle sprain against the Giants in Week 4. He was limited in both Wednesday and Thursday's practices, the first two times he's practiced since the injury occurred.
----------------
Nov. 7
4:45 p.m. - For the second straight day, Zack Martin was listed as "did not participate" on the Cowobys' injury report, raising some concern about his chances of playing this weekend against the Eagles.
Martin has been nursing a shoulder injury, but has started all eight games this year. If he can't play, the team will likely turn to T.J. Bass or Brock Hoffman to replace him at right guard.
Martin is one of five players listed as DNP on the injury report.
----------------
12:03 p.m. - The Cowboys have yet to place Dak Prescott on injured reserve, which would sideline him for at least four games this season.
On Thursday, two days after owner/GM Jerry Jones said it's likely Dak would go to IR, head coach Mike McCarthy said the team is still "going through the process" to evaluate all of the medical opinions regarding Dak's hamstring injury.
"I know he wants to keep playing," McCarthy said, regarding Dak wanting to return at some point this season.
----------------
11:52 a.m. - CeeDee Lamb did more in practice than the Cowboys even anticipated on Wednesday, according to head coach Mike McCarthy.
That's a good sign for Lamb's chances of playing this week against the Eagles.
He was listed as limited on the injury report Wednesday, but could be a full participant, although the Cowboys will remain cautious with their leading receiver.
Lamb suffered an injury to his AC joint on his right shoulder during the Falcons game last Sunday, but returned later in the game to catch a two-point conversion in the final minutes.
----------------
Nov. 6
4:10 p.m. - After being a game-time decision but still playing last week, Trevon Diggs is still on the injury report with a calf injury that has bothered him for several weeks.
Diggs was limited in practice on Wednesday, which is a step up from last week when he didn't practice all week but still played against the Falcons.
Diggs was one of four players limited, including Tyler Guyton, CeeDee Lamb and Micah Parsons.
Check out the full injury report for Cowboys/Eagles.
----------------
11:40 a.m. - There's good news to report on Micah Parsons heading into the Week 10 matchup between the Cowboys and the Eagles.
The all-world pass rusher will return to team practice for the first time since suffering a high ankle sprain several weeks ago, albeit in a limited capacity, per head coach Mike McCarthy on Wednesday.
"The plan is for Micah to practice today, in a limited fashion," he said of the All-Pro. "It'll be in a limited fashion, but he's looking good and he's confident. We'll see how today goes. He'll be on a rep count."
Parsons, should he return against the Eagles, will be looked upon to inject electricity into a struggling Cowboys' pass rush.
----------------
11:35 a.m. - CeeDee Lamb (shoulder) appears to continue to be on track to play on Sunday against the Eagles, but the Cowboys are taking a cautious approach to make sure he's as healthy as possible.
"We'll be really smart with him," Mike McCarthy said of Lamb's practice situation. "He'll go through walkthroughs… he won't do much on the field today."
____
11:30 a.m. - It doesn't appear Bland is trending toward making a return against the Eagles on Sunday afternoon.
The All-Pro cornerback and reigning NFL interceptions leader (2023) continues to rehab from a stress fracture found in his foot before the start of the 2024 season.
"He will work [trainer Britt Brown] today," said head coach Mike McCarthy. "He's still in the rehab group."
Bland was activated from injured reserve to the 53-man roster last week, but must still be medically cleared to take the field.

12:20 p.m. - With the NFL trade deadline nearing, the Cowboys opted to begin their Tuesday by trading for wide receiver Jonathan Mingo in a deal struck with the Carolina Panthers.
That required a corresponding move to make room for the new addition, and that came at the expense of cornerback Andrew Booth.
Booth, who was acquired via trade with the Minnesota Vikings in training camp, has been released and is officially a free agent going forward.
He leaves the Cowboys having produced six combined tackles in three games played.

Nov. 5
9:21 a.m. - The Cowboys are closing in on a trade to add Panthers wide receiver Jonathan Mingo from the Panthers.
According to multiple reports, including NFL.com, the Cowboys are sending a 2025 fourth-round pick to Carolina in exchange for Mingo and a seventh-round pick in 2025.
The NFL trade deadline is Tuesday at 3 p.m. (CT). Cowboys owner/GM Jerry Jones said on Tuesday on his 105.3 "The Fan" radio segment that the team would likely be adding a receiver they coveted in college.
Mingo was the 39th overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft, and in 24 career games has caught 55 passes for 539 yards and has yet to score his first career touchdown. The 6'2, 220 pound wideout gives the Cowboys a big target that still has two years remaining on his rookie contract after the 2024 season, and Mingo gets a fresh start to his career in Dallas.

McCarthy updates status of Elliott, Lamb
-
4:10 p.m. - There is some optimism about CeeDee Lamb's availability to play Sunday against the Eagles.
The wide receiver suffered a shoulder injury on Sunday in Atlanta. His MRI scans have not come back just yet according to head coach Mike McCarthy.
"He's going to have more testing tomorrow, so we'll know tomorrow," McCarthy said. "I don't see him not playing, but that's why you do the testing."
Lamb left for a few plays late in Sunday's loss, but re-entered as the Cowboys pushed down the field to make it a one-score ballgame late against the Falcons. He was in noticeable pain throughout the course of the day.
------------------
3:53 p.m. - Mike McCarthy said in his Monday press conference that Ezekiel Elliott will be available for the Cowboys on Sunday against the Eagles after he and the team mutually decided to have him not travel to Atlanta.
"Zeke will be available, he went through everything today," McCarthy said. "But we did not have a sit-down today."
McCarthy added the decision was a "team discipline" one, and that he respected the mutual choice to make Elliott inactive on Sunday.
------------------
12:23 p.m. - Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones said on 105.3 The Fan Monday afternoon that Dak Prescott (hamstring) and CeeDee Lamb (shoulder) will be get MRIs done following the Cowboys' loss to Atlanta.
"We'll certainly make a solid decision based on what comes back. … We're in the progress of evaluating right now, and I wouldn't be able to comment," Jones said of Prescott's injury, which kept him out of the fourth quarter of Sunday's game.
Lamb was able to return to the game and stayed on the field in the closing minutes battling the pain, which Jones attributed to his grit and determination to try to help his team win.
"I think he's that type of player. … No one wants to not be out there doing something about the struggles we're having right now, and CeeDee is at the front of the line," Jones said.

Nov. 3
6:32 p.m. – Fighting through a shoulder injury for more than half of the game, CeeDee Lamb was able to come back in the final minute to catch a 2-point conversion.
Cowboys owner/GM Jerry Jones said he was not concerned with Lamb's injury long-term and sounded optimistic he could be ready to play even next week. Early diagnosis on the injury is a sprain in the AC joint.
Lamb came down hard on his right shoulder during a second-quarter catch. He stayed in the game but then re-injured it diving for a deep ball in the end zone in the fourth quarter.
After exiting on the next drive, Lamb was able to get back in the game.
Overall, he had eight catches for 47 yards and two carries for 15 yards.
------------------
6:13 p.m. – As a runner, Dowdle carried the load for 75 yards, getting the bulk of the snaps as the lead tailback.
Dowdle actually made his biggest play of the game as a receiver, getting a drop and a touchdown on the same play. Dowdle said he was upset with himself for not catching a pass from Dak in the end zone, but "stayed with it" to catch a deflection for the score.
It's Dowdle's third touchdown reception of the season.
------------------
6:08 p.m. – The Cowboys certainly miss their starting pass-rushers in Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence, but Carl Lawson had the best game of his season with two sacks against the Falcons on Sunday.
The first sack also forced a fumble and a turnover. He later got a sack before halftime, giving him his first multi-sack game since the 2020 season when he played for the Bengals.
------------------
5:59 p.m. – Despite not entering the game until the fourth quarter, Rush actually led the team in passing attempts with 25.
He just edged out the 24 passes by Dak Prescott, who left the game with a hamstring injury.
Rush was able to complete 13 attempts for 115 yards and a touchdown (77.9 QB rating).
The touchdown pass to Jalen Tolbert was Rush's first of the season
------------------
5:14 p.m. – The safety left the game in the third quarter after being injured on a kickoff return.
Thomas was taken straight to the locker room and was evaluated for a concussion. He did not return in the game.
------------------
2:20 p.m. - Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott was ruled out for the remainder of the game with a hamstring injury with 11:08 left to play in the game against the Atlanta Falcons.
Prescott completed 18 of his 24 passes for 133 yards and touchdown, along with a season-high 30 yards on three carries after calls for him to use his legs more earlier in the week.
Prescott was replaced by Cooper Rush in the fourth quarter for the Cowboys.
------------
11:30 a.m. - After a bit of a scare this past week, Trevon Diggs will take the field for the Cowboys against the Falcons — having been held out of practice due to a tear in his calf.
The First-Team All-Pro cornerback will be joined by the return of rookie fifth-round pick Caelen Carson, after the latter missed the last several games due to a shoulder injury.
The Cowboys continue to be without their other First-Team All-Pro cornerback, DaRon Bland, however.
Those who have been ruled inactive against Atlanta include Bland, Ezekiel Elliott, Micah Parsons, Matt Waletzko, Andrew Booth, KJ Henry and Trey Lance (emergency QB).
------------
Nov. 2
12:30 p.m. - For the second time in as many weeks, the Dallas Cowboys have elevated Dalvin Cook from the practice squad as they continue their work in determining what works for the running backs' rotation.
Cook garnered a handful of reps in the loss against the San Francisco 49ers, in a contest that saw Rico Dowdle inactive due to a last-minute illness.
Josh Butler has been elevated to aid in depth at the cornerback position, mostly in the event All-Pro defensive back Trevon Diggs is unable to play, being a gametime decision at the moment; and Butler also offers value on special teams as well.
The Cowboys welcome back Caelen Carson to the mix this week, the rookie having missed the last several games with a shoulder injury.
------------
Nov. 1
2:45 p.m. - There's finally some good news on the injury front in Dallas, as the Cowboys welcome back Caelen Carson to the gameday roster — the rookie cornerback having been medically cleared this week to take the field against the Atlanta Falcons.
Carson has been sidelined with a shoulder injury since suffering it against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 3, missing the subsequent four games because of it; and that put an added dent in the depth chart at the position when also factoring in the prolonged absence of DaRon Bland.
Bland was moved to the active 53-man roster on Wednesday but is still not cleared for action and has been ruled out this week, alongside Micah Parsons. Neither of the two All-Pro players practiced this week, and the wait continues for them both.
Jordan Phillips was also ruled out and remains on injured reserve at this time, unable to participate in games until he's removed from IR, regardless of how well he practices, and the Cowboys have until Nov. 13 to make a decision on his remaining status for 2024.
------------
Oct. 31
3:35 p.m. - The Cowboys have plenty of defensive players not practicing on Thursday but at least middle linebacker Eric Kendricks was listed as "limited" for the second straight day on the injury report.
Kendricks, the Cowboys' leading tackler with 61 stops this year, played last week despite a shoulder injury. He is expected to line up again Sunday in Atlanta.
Whether he will have the likes of Trevon Diggs (calf), DaRon Bland (foot) and Micah Parsons (ankle) remains to be seen. But all three were held out of practice Thursday.
------------
11:34 a.m. - Mike McCarthy provided several injury updates during his Thursday media availability, including Trevon Diggs, the newest addition to the injury report on Wednesday not participating in practice with a calf injury.
"He'll probably start off with the rehab group today, I don't see him practicing." McCarthy said of Diggs' status on Thursday.
McCarthy added that Micah Parsons will be with the rehab group again on Thursday, and that the plan for DaRon Bland is to return to practice today, but that it'll depend on how his warmup goes.
------------
Oct. 30
3:21 p.m. - On the day the Cowboys activated DaRon Bland from injured reserve, with hopes he could possibly play this week in Atlanta, the team's other starting cornerback was absent from practice as well.
Trevon Diggs is dealing with a nagging calf injury and was held out of practice, the team announced in Wednesday's injury report.
Diggs sounded confident he would be able to play through the injury again this week when facing the Falcons.
------------
3:19 p.m. - The veteran guard has been battling injuries all season and the latest is a shoulder injury that caused him to miss Wednesday's practice.
Martin has played every game this season, but did miss some time in the Steelers game due to leg camps. He was on the injury report before the Lions game with a back injury but continued to play.
------------
3:01 p.m. - Kicker Brandon Aubrey continues to miss practice due to his jury-duty obligations.
Aubrey was out on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday last week but still traveled to San Francisco with the team. Aubrey is expected to play this week against the Falcons as well.
This year, he's been one of the most consistent kickers in the NFL, making 18 of 20 field goals, including 8-of-9 from 50+ yards. Aubrey's NFL record streak of eight straight games - dating back to last season - of at least one 50-yard field goal ended last week against the 49ers.
------------
12:08 p.m. - The Dallas Cowboys placed Amani Oruwariye on injured reserve after sustaining an injury against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.
Oruwariye took a knee to the back late in the third quarter of Sunday night's game, was announced as questionable to return but did not end up returning for the Cowboys.
Oruwariye's addition to the active roster was the corresponding move for the Cowboys activating Pro Bowl corner DaRon Bland, who was at the end of his 21-day practice window after it opened on Oct. 9.
