OVERVIEW: Having started his career at the University of Washington, where he played 12 games in his freshman season, Latu was forced to medically retire after suffering a neck injury in practice that doctors deemed too serious for him to continue playing. However, Latu underwent a fusion surgery that helped him make his way back to football, and he found a home at UCLA for his final two seasons.
