The Cowboys may find themselves with an interesting dilemma here. They need a running back, but do they use a first-round pick to fill a need at a position that normally has a short shelf life? With Tony Pollard having departed for the Tennessee Titans, the pressure is on to figure out just how the position will look going forward. Rico Dowdle remains to maintain some semblance of stability with a list of unproven talent serving as his backups for the moment, namely Deuce Vaughn, Malik Davis, Hunter Luepke and Snoop Conner. In all, the running back room has combined for zero NFL starts and only seven total touchdowns. It’s becoming clear the Cowboys will likely have their eye on grabbing a running back in the 2024 NFL Draft, and possibly with an early pick to try to solve the problem for both now and the future. But will it be in the first round?
