Intelligence and early diagnosing is so important at the safety position, and Nubin displays that on every down. Most likely a strong safety at the next level with potential to play in space at free safety, Nubin is a feared presence both downfield and in the run game. | Top-end speed is the biggest question around what Nubin can bring to the next level, which could prevent him from playing as a true free safety in the NFL. With that, in man coverage situations Nubin can be a bit more stuttered than his comfort in zone. |
OVERVIEW: Minnesota's all-time leader in interceptions (13) covered a lot of ground in his time with head coach P.J. Fleck, as his five seasons saw him play in 55 games and account for 207 tackles. His experience as a wide receiver in high school allows him to bring a ball-hawk mentality to the defensive backfield, where he impacts the deep passing game. Nubin finished his career as an AP Second-Team All-American and a First-Team All-Big Ten member in addition to being an Academic All-American his final four seasons as a Gopher.
