With a great frame for the position, standing tall at 6-foot-6 and 260-pounds, Spann-Ford is a willing and capable blocker with great form and hand placement. Solid hands and reliable pass catcher within a 15-yard window. Has the chance to be an all-around blocker and receiver. | Would completely disappear as an option in the passing game at times. During what you could call the biggest games on the Gophers schedule – against Michigan, Ohio State and Iowa – Spann-Ford finished with one reception for no yards. Labors to get rolling. |
OVERVIEW: Experience can both be a blessing and a curse in the case of Spann-Ford. He played all six years with Minnesota and took over 2,100 snaps with the Gophers. On the bright side, he was a physical presence over all those snaps and showed his build was durable throughout a full Big Ten slate. It was enough production to spark some intrigue among the NFL scouts as he earned an invite to both the Senior Bowl and NFL Scouting Combine. There is plenty of tread left on the tires, but it'll be a question on how fast he can get those tires moving.
