Fantastic hands and tracking ability. Will high-point the football well and brings a deep-threat ability because of it. Doesn’t wait for things to come to him. Won’t shy away from laying down blocks in the run game, willing to push defenders out of the frame. | He’s a playmaker without polish. All technical details of McConkey’s game could use some sharpening. Intermediate route running, wasted steps, and yards after the catch. He showed flashes off all three things at Georgia, but has to bring consistency. |
OVERVIEW: It was unfortunate that the college football world didn't get to see more of Ladd McConkey. Sure, he played in 15 games in 2021 and 2022, but the stride he hit in 2023 was on another level for the Bulldogs. He played in just nine games with an ankle injury and averaged nearly 16 yards per catch on 30 grabs. As he makes the jump to the NFL, he'll need to land in the right system to take what talent he's already showcased and refine it at a completely different level. If successful, he'll string together a really good career.
