2025 NFL Draft Guard/Center Prospects

An era has ended with the retirement of future Ring of Honor member and Pro Football Hall of Famer Zack Martin, which means, of course, that Dallas has some rather large shoes to fill. How the Cowboys choose to replace Martin remains to be seen. Will Brock Hoffman slot back in after manning right guard last season when Martin was injured? Will Cooper Beebe, a center in his rookie campaign who spent the bulk of his college career playing guard, return to his roots? If he does, then who plays center? Hoffman? Or could Robert Jones, who was one of the Cowboys’ first free-agent signings this year, step in and help? He started all 17 games for the Dolphins in 2024. The only sure thing along the entire offensive line right now is left guard Tyler Smith. He’s become one of the top players at his position, having earned trips to the Pro Bowl in each of his last two seasons. So with some combination of Smith, Beebe, Hoffman, Jones and even T.J. Bass, the Cowboys might be fine despite Martin hanging up his cleats. Still, don’t think that will keep the team from adding to the interior of its offensive line through the draft. Big bodies are always needed. Especially considering that how the center and guards hold up this upcoming season might just be the key to any offensive success.
